Happy New Year! We at GTOT wish you good health, good fortune, and a large budget for 2012. To those individuals and sponsors who were able to participate in the 2011 GTOT Winter Seminar, we thank you for making it such a success. The Board carefully reviewed the evaluation forms and judging from the number of positive comments, the seminar was very useful to you as Treasury and Finance professionals.
As a reminder, this year’s Winter Seminar will be in Fort Worth at the Hilton Hotel from December 2-5, 2012. We’re excited about the move as it is a larger venue, the room rates will be much lower, and a full breakfast will be served each morning!
As this year progresses, remember that GTOT is there for your professional needs and requirements. Public Funds Investment Act Workshops are offered throughout the year in various Texas locations and Cash Handling Seminars, likewise are offered frequently in a location near you. If you have not had your Investment Policy reviewed and certified by GTOT, consider doing that this year. Information on how to submit your policy is on the web site. GTOT is your organization and your input, thoughts, and ideas are important to us. And if you have a special request, such as cash handling training for your staff, please contact the GTOT staff to discuss your needs. An example of that is the City of Baytown which has a cash handling seminar geared to the seasonal opening of its water park, Pirate’s Bay.
I would be remiss if I did not thank the Board of Directors for their dedicated service to the organization. They are integral to making GTOT a success. And, last but certainly not least, Patrick Shinkle and Emily Brown deserve our special thanks, recognition and gratitude for their hard work, guidance and enthusiasm for GTOT. They truly make GTOT the excellent organization that it is.
