HOW TO REGISTER

  • Registration is available online only. Click here to register
  • We will email a confirmation/invoice/receipt within 5 business days.
  • Members: you must be logged in to see/select the member rate.
  • Students: you must submit proof of enrollment from your Registrar’s Office within 5 business days of registration; registrations will not be processed until proof is received. 
  • Note: Payment is due prior to the seminar. Membership belongs to the individual, not the organization, and is not transferable. One person per registration; no sharing; no prorating of attendance.
  • If paying by credit card or eCheck: payment must be made at time of registration. We cannot enter payment information on behalf of the participant.

CANCELLATION & SUBSTITUTION POLICY

  • If you are registered and cannot attend, we encourage you to send a substitute. If you cannot send a substitute, a $25 processing fee will be charged to you if written cancellation is received by February 7.
  • No refunds will be honored after February 7.

COVID-19 & FLU SAFETY

  • The GTOT Board of Directors is strongly encouraging all in-person participants to follow the most stringent guidelines at the time of the event, be it hotel, local, county, state, or federal.
    • You are encouraged to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and stay in your room if you don't feel well.
  • The seating in the session rooms will be as socially distanced as possible in the space available.

IN-PERSON APP & VIRTUAL SEMINAR PLATFORM

  • Registration is required to access the virtual space. Receiving a confirmation/invoice email indicates you are authorized for the app.
  • ​The email address provided during registration will be used for your log-in access.

    • We encourage you to upload your headshot and bio to your Attendee profile!
    • If you have used EventMobi in the past with the email address provided on your registration...your password will be the same as the last time. If you've forgotten since then you should reset the password.
      • You may need to delete the old app from your phone and re-install using the event code: GTOTWS2022
    • If your email is new to the EventMobi platform, the system will require a password creation when you launch the link for the first time.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

  • The Agenda and App will be updated as sessions become available.
  • All sessions qualify for PFIA, CPE, CGFO, and TASBO CEU credits
  • 14 total hours available (6 hr. Monday, 6 hr. Tuesday, 2 hr. Wednesday)
  • There is no prerequisite for any session.
  • GTOT is registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as a CPE sponsor (004662). This registration does not constitute an endorsement by the Board as to the quality of our CPE program.

CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE

  • Certificates will emailed based on the following criteria:
  • In-Person:
    • All attendees must sign the conference sign-in sheet at the registration table to receive their name badge.
    • Attendees will sign the "session" sheets for each topic attended. Credit hours are based on these signatures of attendance.
  • Virtual:
    • Passphrases will be given for each session. Participants will complete an attendance verification form for each day of training using the associated passphrases. Without the passphrases credit will not be issued.
      • Participants are encouraged to write the phrases down and save them in a separate location prior to submitting the attendance verification form.

PUBLIC FUNDS INVESTMENT ACT

  • The Texas Public Funds Investment Act requires Treasurers, Chief Financial Officers, and Investment Officers of local governments, including all political subdivisions except certain water districts, to receive 10 hours of training within the first 12 months after assuming duties and every 2 years thereafter; based on their entity’s fiscal year.
  • For state agencies and institutions of higher education, Investment Officers are required to attend 1 training session within 6 months of assuming duties and every 2 years thereafter; based on the state biennium.

  • In-Person: Business Casual
  • Virtual: Please ensure you (and those around you) are fully clothed prior to turning on your camera.

ACCOMMODATIONS

  • If you need any assistance - auditory, visual, mobility, dietary, or other - please let us know by Feb.7. 
  • The hotel room block rate ($217/night) is available on a first come, first serve basis. Please book early to ensure you get the best pricing.
    • Careful! Our room block spans Friday, February 25 to Thursday, March 3 to allow for personal travel at the government rate. Double check your stay selections (at the very top of the page) before confirming.
